What most people like best about the DirecTV HD DVR over other DVR offered by Dish Network and Cable TV is the that they are more user friendly.  With DirecTV’S former partnership with the TiVo DVR, they learned a lot and then surpassed TiVo to create a great user interface for DirecTV customers.

DirecTV sports mix offers the ability to watch 8 different programs at the same time.  Dish Network offers the same however DirecTV gives you more options and more screens to view 8 programs, or split screens than any other service.  This just reflects two interesting facts, that DirecTV has more sports channels for the spit screens and again DirecTV offers more user friendly service.  Which makes them very easy to buy!

Their remote control for the HD DVR has less technical support calls than Dish or Cable TV.  It’s compatible with more customers.  This is one reason why DirecTV is the leading satellite TV with more customers than any other satellite TV service.  Cable TV has more but is losing ground fast.

DirecTV offers many of the same services as the Dish Network DVR, but where it stands out is in being more user friendly and providing more HD channel recording options.

Well, if you like paying more money, getting suckered into commitments when you replace equipment, then yes Directv might just be for you. I work for DISh network, and have to know all providers. Directv, they do have the NFl Sunday Ticket, which if yo live outside of the area of your favorite can come in handy, unless they don’t sell out the stadium ad the NFL blacks it out. The is the thing with any sports package, its only going to give you all your team if you don’t live near your team. I’ve used both of the DVR’s, I would disagree and I think DISH DVR is easier to use, but that could also be the learning curve that you would have with anything new to you, so that might not even be good comparison. HD programming, both companies offer tons of HD, but with DISH HD is free for life on any package, for new and existing customers, Directv, HD free for life is only for new customers and not on all packages; you are an existing customer with Direct? Bummer, you can get HD free for two years, but after that you are back to paying the 10.00 while Bob down the street got it for life.
